Motorcycle Client Research
Transport Accident Commission (TAC)
The Transport Accident Commission (TAC) has asked Wallis Social Research (Wallis) to carry out a survey with Victorian motorcycle riders involved in a TAC claim within the past 24 months. Motorcyclists are heavily represented in road trauma statistics given the relatively low percentage of trips made using a motorcycle. This research aims to understand factors that contribute to motorcycle accidents and injuries, and to better understand protective clothing usage and performance during crashes. Ultimately, the results of this work will be used to improve the future of motorcyclists' safety on Victorian roads.
When should I complete the survey?
A pilot survey will be conducted from Monday 16 March until Thursday 2 April 2026.
The main survey will launch Monday 11 May until Friday 5 June 2026.
How long will the survey take?
The survey will take about 30 minutes to complete.
How do I take part?
You can complete the survey online or over the phone with one of Wallis' interviewers. To schedule a call or to decline to participate in the research, contact 1800 WALLIS (925 547) and quote the project number 5139.
If you haven't had a chance to complete the survey online, you may receive a call from a Wallis interviewer inviting you to complete the survey over the phone.
You can decline to participate, or withdraw from the research at any time without needing a reason and nothing you say will impact your TAC claim.
Who can I contact if I have any queries?
For survey support, contact Wallis on 1800 WALLIS (925 547) or email MotorcycleResearch@wallis.social
