Supporting community recovery from COVID-19

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, in September 2020 Moreland City Council engaged Wallis Social Research to conduct a survey among community members to learn more about the social and economic impacts of the public health emergency in the Moreland community.

Moreland City Council plays a central role in supporting the local community through relief and recovery from an emergency. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, in September 2020 Moreland City Council engaged Wallis Social Research to conduct a survey among community members to learn more about the social and economic impacts of the public health emergency in the Moreland community.

Wallis conducted a multi-mode (online and telephone) survey of over 300 residents of the area including follow up in-depth qualitative interviews. This comprehensive assessment informed planning activities to address the social and economic impacts of the pandemic, particularly for the most vulnerable in Moreland.

The survey findings were utilised to develop Moreland’s COVID-19 Recovery Plan which is providing input into local recovery efforts in Moreland.

“Thank you again for your support during the project and we hope Wallis are able to enjoy knowing that yet another project is translating to real action.”

The plan for Moreland’s COVID-19 Recovery is now available on the ‘Conversations Moreland’ webpage
