Evaluation of the Migrant Skills Assessment Program

Deloitte (on behalf of the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations)

Wallis Social Research has been commissioned by Deloitte Access Economics on behalf of the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (the department) to conduct a study for evaluating the Migrant Skills Assessment (MSA) program. The purpose of MSA is to accelerate employment opportunities for migrants through fast-tracked skills assessments, free employability assessments and advice on further training.

Why have I been contacted?

You are being contacted for this survey as you have completed a skills assessment within the last six to eight months. Your details have been shared with Wallis by the department and all your personal information is confidential, in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). For more details, Wallis' Privacy Policy can be viewed here.

About the survey

We are inviting people who have completed a Migrant Skills Assessment to complete two surveys. Wallis Social Research will follow up with participants of the initial survey once after 6 months to study the impact MSA has had on the participants' lives.

This longitudinal study seeks to evaluate and inform on how MSA can better match migrants with their skill-level for employment. This is done by collecting information about changes in social and socio-economic conditions of the respondents.

The information collected in the survey will help the Australian Government develop future skills assessment and migration policies. Participating in this survey is voluntary, and your decision to complete this survey (or not) will not affect any government payments or services you receive. This survey will have no impact on any visa, skills assessment, or employment decisions that the Australian Government is currently undertaking or may undertake in the future. You can learn more about MSA here.

How long will the survey take?

Completing this online survey takes only around 12 minutes of your time.

Who can I contact if I have any questions?
